John C. Falgate
Chief Architect & Founder
Second Life name: Baal Zobel

John Falgate has worked in the fields of the visual and performing arts for more than 20 years, most recently putting his artistic abilities to use in his current profession as an environmental artist/level designer for consumer video games.

After specializing in Interior Design at England’s Great Yarmouth College of Art and Design, John held a long tenure at St. Gregory’s Arts and Performance Centre, where he worked in both the promotional and practical sides of the day-to-day operations of the Centre. In addition to helping with the care and upkeep of the 13th century historical building that housed the Centre, John was also involved in many projects, including set design, lighting and other technical aspects of several theatrical productions.

Turning to an electronic environment, John went on to develop skills in 3D modelling and texturing, producing models and textures for commercial games developers. Most recently, John worked with Khaeon Games on the Chronicles of Spellborn, a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), working from concept art and game play documents to produce models, textures and complete in-game environments. Many of the game levels he has created over the past 10 years, which also include more than 50 non-commercial levels for the Unreal Engine, were later converted for use with most of the major realism modifications.

John was born and raised in England, where he still lives today.
